L. Ruth Carter
Author, editor, actor, storyteller, public speaker
(Okay, she's also a singer)
After spending many years on the road with Covenant Players, an itinerant Christian drama ministry, Ruth now lives in Cottage Country, Ontario where she works at Master's Book Store (what better place for a lover of stories?) and writes, acts, sings, and tells stories. She sings with the Highlands Festival Singers, worships at Eagle Lake Community Church, is part of the "Horse Before the Cart" writers' group, performs with the Highlands Little Theatre and the Highlands Summer Festival, and is a founding member of Highlands Biblical Storytelling Guild.
“He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.” --Louis Nizer
"Find a subject you care about, and which, in your heart, you feel others should care about. It is the genuine caring, and not your games with language, which will be the most compelling and seductive element in your style." --Kurt Vonnegut
"Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too." --Philippians 2:3, 4 (New Living Translation)
